Invitations & Ideations
Below you find six invitations to anyone who supports Black-led orgnaizations with time, talent, treasure or testimony. Each invitation includes examples of ways to support Black-led organizations that were generated during the planning process.
These invitations do not replace the need for equitable general operating, multi-year funding for Black-led organizations.
We invite you to imagine a world where YOU respond to the invitations listed below.
We also invite you to reach out to a Black-led orgnization you already support (or one of the 130 groups listed on our Local BLO Ecosystem page). Ask them how they want you to respond to the invitations below.
Finally, we invite you to take the following two actions:
1. Create a resourcing plan using our guide.
2. Fill out this 3 question form to let us know that you’ve taken action!
- Fund Learning Circles/Cohorts for organizations 0-5yrs (under $50k) and 6-14 yrs ($100K-$1M)
- Offer innovation funding for organizations to test new ideas and start new work

Resource healing through wellness stipends, funding therapy and embodied services

Let Black leaders be themselves vs. trying to get them to emulate white-led organizations
- Fund Learning Circles/Cohorts with Black Founders & long-time EDs
- Fund Coaching and Professional Development for future leaders at legacy organizations before leadership transitions occur
- Make impact investments for organizations exploring fee-for-service/social entrepreneurship models
- Create a nonprofit benefits pool/co-op/shared benefits plan
- Fund Communications/Storytelling project (skill-building and shared resources)
- Fund Data Cohorts that help BLOs measure their impact
