Black-Led and Black-Centered Giving
In 2019, Black Philanthropy Houston released the findings of one of the first surveys of Black givers in our community. This planning process is a sister project to that work.
BPH highlighted collective giving as one of the traditions in Black communities. Nationally, there has been a movement to spotlight existing circles and support the development of new ones. If you’re interested in starting a giving circle, Community Investment Network serves Black people looking to leverage their collective resources. For additional ideas on ways to help close the giving gap for Black-led organizations, check out the GivingGap.
